holding hands
These trees, located on the banks of the James River in Virginia, appear to be holding hands. I don't know what type of tree they are, but the root system is fascinating.
BJ, I've only seen trees like that once before, in NC, Joyce Kilmer Forest. I wonder if the trees grow like that naturally or if over time the soil has simply washed away...
I'll have to check my other photos made at the same location. There might be more tree root formations like these. If I find some, I'll post them soon. Thanks for the comment!
